Clift Rodgers Library Welcomes Librarian Judith Bates
Clift Rodgers Library is delighted to introduce Judith Bates as the new librarian. Former Clift Rodgers Trustee Bates, who received an accounting degree from Bentley College, has been a Marshfield resident for 25 years. She was the Assistant Town Accountant for Scituate from 1979 to 2001. Bates is an avid sports fan for the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, and now the Patriots because, “My husband tuned me onto the Patriots back in 1980.”
For Bates, what are the first impressions of the library as the head librarian? Bates thought about the answer to the question, and her response was, “...how warm, friendly, and welcoming everyone has been from the trustees to the volunteers to the patrons who come to the library. From the time I was very young, my mother took my brother and me to the library just about every other week so my love of reading goes way back. To be surrounded by books, is ideal.”
