14th Annual Garden Tour
June 21st was a perfect day to visit 7 gardens,
enjoy refreshments, and be inspired!!
Thank you to the homeowners who shared their gardens, the artisits, the ticket sellers, the ticket buyers, and anyone else involved
in making this our most successful Garden Tour ever!

MHS Seniors once again gave up a school day to work in the community. We celebrate their
generosity and energy!

In June, 2014, CRL was contacted via email by Mr. Steven Huyser of Lansing Michigan. Mr Huyser purchased an antique secretary about 20 years ago in Charlotte, North Carolina. When he contacted a cabinet maker to make some needed repairs to the desk, they noticed there was an inscription on the back of one of the drawers.

"Clift Rodgers Quincy Dec 20th, 1835"

Mr. Huyser offered the secretary to our library so Trustee Prsident Gordon Leach contacted the Marshfield Historical Society. They located a sample of Clift's signature in an attempt to authenticate the piece.

By September, 2016, arrangements were finally made for the desk to be shipped to Marshfield. It returned 'home'. The secretary is now in the CRL's front lobby.

In October, 2015, Mr. Huyser and his mother visited Marshfield and a small reception was held at the CRL so Mr. Huyser could see the secretary in its new surroundings. Trustee President Matt Currie gave Mr. Huyser a picture of the CRL and extended our warmest thanks for such
a generous and interesting gift.
